Wycliffe “Wyc” K. Grousbeck is the majority owner and Governor of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association. Grousbeck was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and attended Noble and Greenough School in Dedham. Grousbeck graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in history and rowed on the Ivy League and National rowing championship-winning lightweight crew team in 1983. Grousbeck earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1986 and his M.B.A. (Miller Scholar) from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1992.

After seven years as a partner at Highland Capital Partners, Grousbeck founded and led the group Boston Basketball Partners L.L.C., which purchased the Boston Celtics for $360 million in 2002. The Celtics won their seventeenth NBA championship in 2008.
In January 2017, Wyc married Emilia Fazzalari. Wyc and Emilia collaborated with fellow NBA owners Michael Jordan, Jeanie Buss, and Wes Edens to launch Cincoro Tequila in September 2019. Wyc serves on the NBA’s Executive, Labor, and Media Committees, as well as being a board member of the Boston Celtics, the Shamrock Foundation, Giving Grousbeck Fazzalari, Omaze, Inc., Cinco Spirits Group, Mass General Brigham, and NBC Sports Boston.
