Jason Verrett is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).
His previously played for the San Diego Chargers, having been slected by them in the first round (25th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He signed his first professional contract with the Chargers, a four-year, $7.88 million contract that includes $6.39 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $4.05 million on May 29, 2014.
He stayed with the Chargers until March 14, 2019, when he was signed by the San Francisco 49ers in a one-year deal worth $3.6 million.
On April 13, 2020, he re-signed with the 49ers and in week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football, Verrett intercepted a pass thrown by Jared Goff during the 24–16 win his first interception since 2016 and his first as a 49er.
On April 1, 2021, he re-signed with the 49ers but tore his ACL in the season opening win against the Detroit Lions, ending his season.
Though Verrett still plays football, he is out for the rest of the 2022 season after he tore his Achilles tendon on November 9, 2022.
