Jason Verrett is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).
Born in Fairfield, California on June 18, 1991, Verrett attended Angelo Rodriguez High School, where he played football and ran track. In football, he played running back on offense and cornerback on the defensive side.
He played college football at TCU and was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round (25th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft, becoming the highest selected TCU defender since Bob Lilly in 1961.
Verrett was the fourth cornerback drafted in 2014, behind Justin Gilbert (8th overall), Kyle Fuller (14th overall), and Darqueze Dennard (24th overall).
On May 29, 2014, he was signed to a four-year, $7.88 million contract which included $6.39 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $4.05 million by the San Diego Chargers.
He stayed with the Chargers until March 14, 2019, when he signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
