Where is Salem Al-Dawsari from?

Salem bin Mohammed bin Shafi Al-Dawsari, popularly known as Salem Al-Dawsari is a Saudi Arabian footballer currently playing as a winger for Al-Hilal and the Saudi Arabia national team.


Al-Dawsari was born on 19 August 1991 in Wadi ad-Dawasir, Najd, Saudi Arabia.

He joined Al-Hilal as a youth player and in 2018, as part of a deal between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and La Liga, he joined Spanish club Villarreal on loan.

He made one appearance in Spain, coming on as a substitute against Real Madrid as Villareal came from behind to draw 2–2.


On the international level, he was called up to the Saudi Arabian national team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and scored his first international goal in an away match against Australia in 2012.

On Nov. 22, 2022 during the World Cup staged in Qatar, he scored his maiden world cup goal against Argentina.

The goal was an excellent one which showed his skillset.

He went on an incredible solo run around the box before finishing with an exquiste curler past Emi Martinez to give Saudi Arabia a shock 2-1 victory against Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
