Who is ex-black stars midfielder Abu Imoro? What is his cause of death?

During his playing days, Imoro was a star for Great Olympics and Real Tamale United. He was also a regular for the Black Stars in the 1980s, where he impressed fans. His life, however, was ruined by hard drugs.

Two years ago, after widespread reports of his poverty, some benevolent former teammates came to his aid. The midfielder, who was known for his skill and flair on the ball, was eventually sent to a rehabilitation center and successfully reformated.

Imoro was a close friend of the great Abedi Pele during his playing days. Because of his toughness on the ball, he was nicknamed Juan Tigana after a former French footballer.

What was his cause of death?

The passing of the ex-footballer was affirmed by the leader of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Anthony Baffoe.

In a post on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Baffoe said Abu Imoro died in the early evening and petitioned God for his spirit. “Abu Imoro ‘Tigana’ is no more among us. He kicked the bucket one hour prior. May his spirit rest in wonderful harmony. Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhī rājiʿūn Surely we have a place with Allah and to Him will we return. Rest well Abu,” he composed.

His cause of death is not yet known.
