Barry Bannan has had a variety of emotions during his time at Sheffield Wednesday.

Yet, according to Barry Bannan, he’s never been through anything like the night at Hillsborough. To reach Wembley, the Owls overcame a 4-0 first-leg deficit against Peterborough United.

It was a comeback like no other in the EFL play-off system, and it was probably the best in Wednesday’s history.

Barry Bannan, the captain, played his role, leading the team to a great victory and safely slotting away his penalty, one of five successful spot-kicks that clinched a place in the showpiece play-off final later.

Yet Barry Bannan says that meeting a crestfallen Posh boss Darren Ferguson put the frighteners on him on an otherwise beautiful night.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Barry Bannan explained: “I went into the back room to do an interview with the EFL and he was in there and I bumped into him. I got a wee bit scared and didn’t know what to say to him and I panicked!
